Arangetram

Arangetram is derived from the words, Arangam and Etram which mean 'stage' and 'performance' respectively. The first stage performance of the dancer is called Arangetram. Before an Arangetram, the salangai pooja is performed where the dancer receives their first pair of 'anklets' to be worn during the performance, and worships them right before the performance.
